Scotland: Food Insecurity Service-Learning Project
This adventure is a culmination of the spring semester-long course that addresses solutions to food security on the community level. Throughout the semester students of the program will:
- Partner with students and faculty at the University of Glasgow’s Dumfries campus.
- Create a needs assessment for a community surrounding the Dumfries school.
- Plan a service-learning project through area non-profit organizations to alleviate food security in the area.
- Fly to Dumfries over spring break and carry out their project.
Morocco: Comparative Study of Agriculture, Community, and Organizational Development
This program, offered in Maymester, provides an immersive experience with some of Morocco’s top researchers, producers, and policy makers. Students will travel from the Atlas Mountains down to the Sahara Desert to conduct a comparative analysis of the current cultural and industry trends shaping agriculture, community, and organizational development in Morocco.
This Morocco experience requires no prerequisites and is open to all majors and graduate students. This interdisciplinary program will allow you to interact with the people and their diverse cultures; explore the public policies that are addressing the country's 21st Century challenges; and experience the agricultural production, which employs about 40% of the nation's workforce.
